Simmtronics and VIA has team up to introduced the SIMM PC in India. This PC will be priced at under Rs. 10,000 and features a 15.6-inch monitor, keyboard, and optical mouse. The SIMM PC will be assemble with VIA PC-1 mainboards at new Roorkee plant of company. SIMM PC will be available in the market soon through Simmtronics’ wide range of channel partners.
VIA PC-1 is based on VIA’s energy efficient processors, the VIA Nano and VIA C7 processor families and focus on communication, education and information. VIA’s Nano and C7 processors are low power processors and much lower overall cost in compare of Intel. PC-1 products offer OEMs and ODMs to offer their customers low-cost and power-efficient products. Simmtronics joins it to developing end-user PC-1 like SIMM PC. Simmtronics already launched SIMMBOOK in UAE, a IBM-cobranded netbook, which use VIA processors and chipsets and Ubuntu operating systems to offer great value for money.
